ice fishing

first ice

Jan. 1st 2010.  First man on the ice: Ryan Hutchinson!  Due to lots of wind, the bay packed up and then froze solid with -20 nights (and days!).  Ryan caught these two lakers in about 10 minutes.  He was about 20 ft off the dock and they were cruising right under the ice!   Ice huts out by this week-end!!!

two nice ice trout

The huts are heated, and Ryan provides transport to and from the hut.  Our cabins (in the background) are not open in the winter.  We will recommend other accommodations close by if you’d like to rent the huts for serveral days of fishing.  Four-man huts just $70.00/day!

Let’s get the blog fired up. I want to hear how many Lake Manitou Laker’s are being hammered up there. I know it’s lots. Talk to you later.
